Just found the CookHouse, a wonderful restaurant and beautiful location. Great service, excellent selection, and very reasonable prices. We had breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake! We will be back when ever our travels bring us this way again. Cheers.

2 years ago as I was moving to Washington from LA, I accidentally stumbled on to this restaurant. Had the fish and chips... I have tried many places back home and many places here in the Seattle area; some claiming they have the best... Every time I bite into that battered cod from some other place, I can't stop thinking of the wonderful taste of that perfectly cooked (not burned or oily) fish and chips from Cookhouse. The Bloody Mary is also very good! driving down to LA soon and eating here is one of my trip's highlights.

My husband and I visited this beautiful harbor for the first time yesterday. Decided to try the Cook House for breakfast. Bad idea. We just had oatmeal and muffins. Made us super sick as we were traveling. The meal left a bad after taste. Food wasn't that great and I didn't even finish. Our waitress was nice and one of the bus girls, the rest of the staff were rude and loud. Wouldn't recommend and won't be back.

We have been Cook House customers for years, but it is not the same and I don't believe we will ever go back. In our experience the food has always been good, and that is why I did not give a One Star Review Rating. On July 3rd, 2019 we went to The Cookhouse and had to wait in the lobby even though most tables were available. A very loud and stressed out employee named Jeanette started having a very intense loud conversation with other staff right there at the Hostess Station in front of us, and we were tempted to immediately leave (which I now wish we had). When they were ready, we requested that we could wait for a table outside, but that was not an option, even though tables were available. We were given a window table inside, which was fine, except the whole interior of The Cookhouse has been gutted, stripped down, and remodeled with a cold white and gray color paint scheme. All the lights were on full brightness and it made for a very cold and sterile atmosphere. As the sun went down outside, it was so bright inside you couldn't even appreciate the view, which is one of the best things the Cook House has. The air conditioning was set way too cold and we joked that the new management should look up in Webster's Dictionary words such as "Ambience" and "Atmosphere". As it turns out, the extremely stressed out employee 'Jeanette' ended up being our waitress. We could never get a word in edgewise with her as to comment or inquire about dimming the lights, easing off the air conditioning, or just suggest that she calm down. She was polite, but she was intense, hyper-stressed, loud, just short of shouting to other employees across the room barking out orders throughout the evening, and just destroyed any possibility of having an enjoyable relaxing dinner. She literally threw the check on and a 'to go' box at my wife! We spent over $100 for the worst dinner dining experience I can think of I have had anywhere. It would have been better if we had just gone to Denny's. They don't even offer bread anymore with dinner. This used to be a wonderful dining experience and was worth the money, but I will not bother or waste an evening going there ever again, (unless a new owner or management takes over and restores it to the fine dining experience it used to be for many years). I waited over a week to write this, but it was that bad, and another great place now seems to be gone.

Best waitress ever, Sunny. She could not do enough for us. 20 people in our group. Food good but Sunny made the morning!
